As anyone who follows this blog will know, a few months ago Cloddigger, My Folks and I took on an overgrown plot (dubbed Site 2) which we have cleared and taken back to bare soil. During the clearing process we came across a fair amount of rubbish and rubble, most of which was disposed of.
Some of it, though, proved to be rather interesting to one of us at least and ended up being crafted into very beautiful and unique object. To find out more about the piece "Unearthed", check out the Woodwose Carving website.
Hello! Thanks for popping by and don't worry about wiping the mud off your shoes. If you like what you read, then please feel free to leave a "scrap in the compost bin" especially if you have any helpful advice to offer an allotment newbie! Hi thanks for dropping by. I hope you enjoy this blog as I take you through our trials and tribulations as we try to get an allotment and actually grow stuff.
So who are we? Well, I'm Michelle and I had the bright idea of getting an allotment much to the shock of the whole family as I have no interest in domestic gardening whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE sitting out and admiring my lovely garden at home but I can't take any of the credit for it. That's all down to my wonderful, ever-patient husband who I refer to as "Cloddigger" in this blog. This isn't a derrogatory name by any means - it merely pays credit to all the digging and heavy work he does as well as preserving his anonymity.
Other random players include our two sons - collectively "The Boyz"; our ageing Black Labrador - "The Dog"; our generous friends Deb and Dan, and my Mum and Dad - "My Folks". There may be others making the odd appearance.
Well that's the end of the Welcome Note, apologies for getting a bit waffly - with any luck my blog entries will be more interesting!!! Oh, and please feel free to leave comments by clicking on the "scraps in the compost bin" link at the end of each post.
